Hays Energy Operations Manager Keiana Kavanaugh first learned about Roof Tech in 2017 while working for another company, and she immediately recognized the benefits of RT-MINI.
Matt Juge, Director of Surveys and Storage Technology for TriSMART, had heard good things about Roof Tech even before he started his current job. “At my last company, a sales organization had already designed and engineered their first project using a rail-less system with Roof Tech,” he recalled.
Robb Marshall, Materials Logistics Manager for Greenlight Solar, first learned about Roof Tech in January 2019. “A local supplier in our office complex already knew about Roof Tech and referred us to them,” he said. Not long after, Ken Clem, Sales Manager for Roof Tech’s South Central Region, visited Greenlight Solar in person to hand-deliver product samples to Marshall.
Gina Marzano Farese remembers running on rooftops at a young age and later began working side-by-side with construction crews helping to rip out and install roofing. Her father, Gary Marzano, also grew up on construction sites and is now the owner and president of Marcor Construction Roofing & More on Long Island. Today, Farese owns the solar division of Marcor and manages all the company’s solar accounts, working closely with builders, developers, and homeowner associations. “Roofing is a huge part of solar and roofers need to understand how to make the two work together,” she explained.
In the spring of 2019, an installer on Titan’s team told Magro about Roof Tech and Titan decided to give it a try. “He insisted we try RT-MINI to see how great it was,” Magro said, “and it turns out he was right. Since then, we have used RT-MINI on shingled and metal roofs and we have never looked back. With RT-MINI, there’s no need to place aluminum flashing under shingles which can cause tearing, and the butyl rubber layer forms a strong, watertight seal.”
When Tim Graunke, head of project development at Solar Gain, first encountered the Roof Tech team he knew they would be the right choice for a new job he was about to start. “I was at the 2016 Intersolar North America conference in San Francisco,” he recalled. “We had a contract to install a 630kW system at WorldMark® Windsor Resort, a 10-acre vacation ownership property in Sonoma County with nine buildings. We recognized right away that Roof Tech had the best mounting solution for this important project.”
Mark Hagerty, president and founder of Michigan Solar Solutions (MSS), first encountered Roof Tech products at a tradeshow in Minnesota in 2015. Not long after, he decided to use RT-MINI to mount the solar array on his company’s office in Riverdale, Michigan. “By using RT-MINI, we were able to install a skirt around the array to create a streamlined look,” he said. “It was so esthetically appealing people didn’t even realize we had solar installed on the roof.”
